  Photo-A-Day 2.0 #01283 Andy is living his best beach life this year. He goes to Science School in the morning and has the afternoon on the beach with Mom and Dad and his friend, Evie. He spends hours in the water, coming out occasionally to eat something. He’s playing swimming and having a blast. The other day he found a large hermit crab and Allison took a photo of it so that he could show his Science School teacher. He’s been catching some cool things at class, too. He caught a pipefish this week and got to name it. Next week we hope to get our paddleboards out so we can have a paddleboard adventure, too.

  Photo-A-Day 2.0 #01282 Tonight was Open House at the Science School. We went and met Andy’s teacher. We know Eva’s teacher, well. We toured Andy’s classroom and took a look at some of the creatures they collected in their living tank and took a look at Andy’s journal. We met the assistants and also Andy’s teacher. Andy could not remember her name. Sometimes he is like that. Details. We went to Eva’s classroom and Auntie Tara talked with us and the parents of the two other kids in the class. She was able to get some good connections for graduate students and even a freshwater pond within walking distance that the kids could explore. After the open house we went o Paul’s Pizza for dinner. It is not Summer until we’ve had Paul’s but I think that next time we will get the pizza to go. It was busy but then a party of 13 came in right after us and it made for very tight quarters and it was loud. The food was great and our waitress was excellent.   Photo-A-Day 2.0 #01281 On most mornings at the Cape house Allison and I try to get a nice walk in. We walk along Great Bay which is one of the prettiest places near the house. This is one long inlet that has tons of boats and nice houses and great views. We do a good couple of miles on our walk and hope to do a lot more of it this season on the Cape. The kids started their Science School this week. Andy is going to the early class with his friend Evie and Evie’s little sister. Andy was really excited when he came home and I think he’s going to love his class this year. I also like that he is in the early class and despite it being a carpool hassle it does give him his own time with his own friend. He and Evie are having a blast together in class but also at the beach. The play for hours in the water and they have their own little short-hand for playing together.   Photo-A-Day 2.0 #01280 Today was the Fourth of July and it was a really nice day. We had the local parade that Andy and Allison participated in. I was out for a ride with my Dad to see just how busy things were in the area and they were quite busy. Falmouth Heights got swarmed by people. We did end up going to the beach at some point only because Uncle Erik put out chairs at an obscene time of morning. It was crowded there. Fourth of July Beach Goers are like nothing else. They bring everything with them and take up so much room for their little groups. It was a bit crazy. We stayed at the beach for a little while and then came home. We had a cook out and Mom got to come out to the back porch to participate. She’s had knee surgery and is recovering. speaking of porches we collectively decided that going to the beach with the crowds there was not going to be enjoyable so we watched the fireworks from our porch and they were really good right from where we were.   Photo-A-Day 2.0 #01279 We headed to the Cape for the Fourth of July holiday and for the kids to start Science School. We stopped at Somerset Creamery to get some ice cream to officially kick off our Summer. We all went conservative with a small ice cream except for Andy who went a step above with a Waffle Cone and sprinkles. Red White and Blue ones for the holiday. I can’t say that I wasn’t more than envious of his choice. I do love a Waffle Cone. We enjoyed a nice meal with everyone and got settled into our rooms.

  Photo-A-Day 2.0 #01278 This past week Eva went to a Jewelry making class at RISD. All week she learned how to cut metal and shape it and stamp it. She had a really nice time learning this skill and met some nice people along the way as well.

  Photo-A-Day 2.0 #01277 It is that time of year again and I’ve got to install all the AC units. I started with my office because it is the hottest room in the house. With the computers, TV and XBox running a lot of heat is going on in this room. It works nice for the Winter where I am not as cold because of those warm things but once the Summer hits things get unbearable. Not too bad, made it to July at least before breaking down and putting them in.
