In Fort Wayne ...

Flew from Providence to Fort Wayne today. Stopped briefly in Cincinnati. Flew on Delta this trip. Haven’t flew on this airline for 3 years. I think I took one flight on Delta back in 2001 or 2002. I am about 200 miles away from having 4 tickets on Delta however. That is because I found a great deal through goldpoints.com (The point program through Radisson hotels as well as T.G.I. Friday’s. In 2001 I bought $100.00 worth of magazines and that translated into over 40,000 airline miles. It was a pretty sweet deal. I’ll probably use these tickets when we next head to Disney.

Speaking of Airline miles, the honeymoon has now been completely paid for. The total cost out of pocket to us ended up being less than 1/3 of the total price. When I made the final payment I was able to use the miles I had acquired during the time between the last payment made, that translated into 32,000 miles. I was glad to part with them and put some ease on our wallet. Can’t wait for Aruba!

Actually I have to say that I can’t wait for the wedding, today marks 2 months till the wedding. Allison and I have been working ferociously on the planning lately and I’ve been working on that super secret project for the wedding favors. We went to dinner last night at the place where we are having the rehearsal dinner. It was another good meal. They have an all you can eat family style chicken dinner for $9.99 on Saturdays till 4 and Sunday till 8. We got a few more questions answered from the folks at the Moose Cabin and are really excited for the Rehearsal dinner.

The Moose Cabin has monday night football and $0.25 wings on Mondays and a Texas Hold Em tournament each Tuesday. And they want to start doing country line dancing there. Allison and I said that we were very excited about doing some line dancing. They haven’t started it yet but were happy to hear that people were interested.

I am reading one of the books that came from Great Uncle Richard’s house. It is called There’s a Porcupine in My Outhouse subtitled ‘Misadventures of a Mountain Man Wannabe’ by Michael J. Tougias. I like his writing style and reading about his misadventures in a Vermont cabin on a lake has been fun. The book is autographed too. I would compare the book to Bill Bryson’s A Walk in the Woods but the dust jacket already beat me to it. It is a short book and I should be done with it later today I am halfway through already.

Well I had a few minutes to charge up my pocket PC and add a few new songs to the MP3 player, ready for the next leg of my flight to Fort Wayne.

So the flight from Cincinnati to Fort Wayne arrived before I left. The flight was only about 45 minutes and I crossed from Eastern to Central Time. This was one of the only flights that this has occurred in this way in my four years of flying. I only had time to listen to three songs with the plane going up and then down super quick.

I’m in Fort Wayne and listening to the radio today I heard an ad for the Fawn Lebowitz Invitational. Can anyone tell me who Fawn Lebowitz was? The first to guess correctly gets bragging rights. Don’t cheat and look it up on the Internet.

Sorting Transformers ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02424 Yesterday I drove Andy to school. Today I walked over with them. I did so not because I didn't think Andy would be safe on their own. Andy has been walking home from school for well over a year so walking to school is the same thing just in reverse. I wanted to see how long it actually took for the walk to go. I of course, over estimated how early we had to head over. The walk itself only takes a brisk 15 minutes. And that is at a modified teenager's shuffle. So Andy can leave the house around 6:25-6:30 and still get there by 6:45 when the doors open to the High School. Good to know. During the day I started one of the projects I've been meaning to start and have been putting off. I'm sorting through my Transformers and getting them ready to sell. I have talked with the guys at Double Midnight Comics about selling them my collection. Not the stuff I have on display and also I am picking out some figures that I want to keep as part of the collectio...

Time with Lexi ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02401 Today We watched my sister's dog, Lexi. My sister and her husband were coming back up here from their home and they had boarded the dog. They weren't sure if they'd be there in time to pick her up so we did that for them. We had Lexi for a couple of hours before they arrived and we had dinner together. Lexi was pretty chill for the most part until Torrun came in to the living room to investigate. At first they just looked at each other. Andy grabbed for LEXI's leash and then Lexi tried to go after Torrun. Torrun ended up bolting for the upstairs and we did not see her for hours. James knew enough not to even come down.

Time For Another Change ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02402 Andy decided to clean their room today. In so doing they decided that they no longer wish to hang on to their LEGO sets. So, I now have them all and I spent the afternoon disassembling many sets to fit into the one bucket. There were many Minecraft sets in there. What I'm going to do eventually is take what is in the bucket and separate it down to the individual sets that I still have instructions books for. The organizing of that is going to be daunting. I will try and figure out an efficient way to separate everything but I'm sure that will take some time. Andy also decided that they no longer want the piggy bank that was mine. That I am putting into a box for Andy for when they get older and maybe have kids of their own.
