New Camera Day ...

Allison at IKEA

Photo-A-Day #673

Notice the scarf Allison is wearing. She made that.

Today Allison and I went to IKEA to return a rug we bought along with some roman shades. We picked up a new rug as well as a chair for the office and some lamps for the bedroom. A couple other things and we were all set. We walked through IKEA in record time on this trip. It took as almost no time to get there. We’ve tried many different routes but the one today was faster than all the others. And on the way we listed to my iPod on my new Monster iCarPlay Plus Wireless FM Transmitter/Charger for iPod. The sound quality wasn’t fantastic but was okay for our ride. We listened to an old Pop Candy Podcast.

After IKEA we stopped at the Red Wing Diner. It is an old diner that has fantastic fried seafood. And you pay for it. We split a Fisherman’s Platter that was loaded but it should have been for the price. The place was nice and very lived in and comfortable. A real place for regulars to come and hang out. The Red Wing Diner was featured on the Phantom Gourmet and I’ve been wanting to try it but it was never the right time of day or we already had plans. Today we kept our options open. The meal was great, the one thing I did have issue with was another patron siting next to us who was very loud and said every single mundane thing that popped into her head. No that is incorrect because it was as if thoughts came up from her feet and exited her mouth before they hit the brain. It is called an internal monologue, get one.

After we got home Allison assembled the lamps and I assembled the chair. She also laid out the rug and I did some blogging.

As I was blogging I heard some noises, some beeps from the other room. Allison was using her new camera. Yep, new Camera. I got Allison a new camera for Valentine’s day. The camera is a Canon SD600 and I also got her a 1GB memory card and a LowePro Ridge 10 camera bag. I gave her the camera last night because I also got myself a new camera and I wanted to play with it. I got the Canon SD800 IS and a LowePro Ridge 10 camera bag.

new camera bags

I gave Allison both cameras in their respective camera bags and told her that one was hers and she needed to guess. She picked the red bag because practically everything I own is blue. She gives me some ribbing about that but I always know what is mine. Here are some pictures from when we opened the cameras.

Sorting Transformers ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02424 Yesterday I drove Andy to school. Today I walked over with them. I did so not because I didn't think Andy would be safe on their own. Andy has been walking home from school for well over a year so walking to school is the same thing just in reverse. I wanted to see how long it actually took for the walk to go. I of course, over estimated how early we had to head over. The walk itself only takes a brisk 15 minutes. And that is at a modified teenager's shuffle. So Andy can leave the house around 6:25-6:30 and still get there by 6:45 when the doors open to the High School. Good to know. During the day I started one of the projects I've been meaning to start and have been putting off. I'm sorting through my Transformers and getting them ready to sell. I have talked with the guys at Double Midnight Comics about selling them my collection. Not the stuff I have on display and also I am picking out some figures that I want to keep as part of the collectio...

Time with Lexi ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02401 Today We watched my sister's dog, Lexi. My sister and her husband were coming back up here from their home and they had boarded the dog. They weren't sure if they'd be there in time to pick her up so we did that for them. We had Lexi for a couple of hours before they arrived and we had dinner together. Lexi was pretty chill for the most part until Torrun came in to the living room to investigate. At first they just looked at each other. Andy grabbed for LEXI's leash and then Lexi tried to go after Torrun. Torrun ended up bolting for the upstairs and we did not see her for hours. James knew enough not to even come down.

Time For Another Change ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02402 Andy decided to clean their room today. In so doing they decided that they no longer wish to hang on to their LEGO sets. So, I now have them all and I spent the afternoon disassembling many sets to fit into the one bucket. There were many Minecraft sets in there. What I'm going to do eventually is take what is in the bucket and separate it down to the individual sets that I still have instructions books for. The organizing of that is going to be daunting. I will try and figure out an efficient way to separate everything but I'm sure that will take some time. Andy also decided that they no longer want the piggy bank that was mine. That I am putting into a box for Andy for when they get older and maybe have kids of their own.
