Not Again ...

Not Again

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #01697

I say not again but this time it is something new. A whole new adventure in suck. This morning Allison had me come to the basement because the floor around the washing machine was all wet. There was water all under the washing machine and around the utility sink and even on a file cabinet that we have propped up with a dehumidifier on top so it can drain out into the sink. I noticed some water in the sink and it would not drain so I hit it with the plunger. water came spilling out over the white pipe to the left of the sink.

I wanted to see what exactly was happening. I went to the pipe in the back of the house that has the house trap and I ran a snake through that. I ran into no blockages and then I ran it back toward the house away from the street and there also no blockage that I could get. So the problem appears to be happening close to where all the pipes converge near the laundry. The new pipes that were recently installed when the bathroom was put in.

so we ran another load of laundry through the washing machine. I watched to see if the pipe would overflow like it had with the plunger. It did not, instead the sink filled up almost to the top. Then the washer filled a second time for the second rinse and when it emptied the sink level had gone down but not enough to contain both of these loads of water. I paused the washing machine for an hour or so and then ran it out once the water came back down in the sink. so things are draining, very, very slowly. We’ve got some work to do.

comedy show

Allison had gotten me a give for my birthday, tickets to see the comedian, Jim Jefferies at the VET in Providence. We went to P.F. Chang’s for dinner because the Cheesecake Factory had a 40 minute wait. When we finished our meal at P.F. Chang’s we got a message from The Cheesecake Factory that a table was ready.

The comedy show as a great time. Jim was so funny. We laughed really hard and enjoyed the night very much. It was nice to take our minds off the plumbing situation for a little while.

Sorting Transformers ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02424 Yesterday I drove Andy to school. Today I walked over with them. I did so not because I didn't think Andy would be safe on their own. Andy has been walking home from school for well over a year so walking to school is the same thing just in reverse. I wanted to see how long it actually took for the walk to go. I of course, over estimated how early we had to head over. The walk itself only takes a brisk 15 minutes. And that is at a modified teenager's shuffle. So Andy can leave the house around 6:25-6:30 and still get there by 6:45 when the doors open to the High School. Good to know. During the day I started one of the projects I've been meaning to start and have been putting off. I'm sorting through my Transformers and getting them ready to sell. I have talked with the guys at Double Midnight Comics about selling them my collection. Not the stuff I have on display and also I am picking out some figures that I want to keep as part of the collectio...

Time with Lexi ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02401 Today We watched my sister's dog, Lexi. My sister and her husband were coming back up here from their home and they had boarded the dog. They weren't sure if they'd be there in time to pick her up so we did that for them. We had Lexi for a couple of hours before they arrived and we had dinner together. Lexi was pretty chill for the most part until Torrun came in to the living room to investigate. At first they just looked at each other. Andy grabbed for LEXI's leash and then Lexi tried to go after Torrun. Torrun ended up bolting for the upstairs and we did not see her for hours. James knew enough not to even come down.

Time For Another Change ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02402 Andy decided to clean their room today. In so doing they decided that they no longer wish to hang on to their LEGO sets. So, I now have them all and I spent the afternoon disassembling many sets to fit into the one bucket. There were many Minecraft sets in there. What I'm going to do eventually is take what is in the bucket and separate it down to the individual sets that I still have instructions books for. The organizing of that is going to be daunting. I will try and figure out an efficient way to separate everything but I'm sure that will take some time. Andy also decided that they no longer want the piggy bank that was mine. That I am putting into a box for Andy for when they get older and maybe have kids of their own.
