Corn Dog Truck

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02010

This morning Allison and I went for a walk along Great Bay. We did about a mile and then turned around. A Lot of the pathway is washed out at this point. I have not seen any washed out areas myself, I just know about them because we can’t get to them because there are blocks to keep people from walking on them. I’m not sure when it happened but it stinks because that was our favorite place to walk while here on The Cape. It is so pretty along that walk. I noticed that there were some cranes in the water and there were kayaks on shore and it looked very Cape Cod so I stopped to take the photo.

Great Bay

It was an overcast day so we were not going to go to the beach. So, after picking Andy up from Science School I decided to take them to Dennis the Doghouse, a hot dog place that I had heard of on Tik Tok. Unfortunately I did not find out until we pulled up to the empty parking lot that they were closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. So, we started back to home and we saw a food truck along the way that was the Corn Dog Truck. Well, we had our hearts and stomachs set on Hot Dogs so we stopped there. I mean we were looking over the menu on the way up and I could not wait to try their Hangover Fries. Andy was going to have the West Dennis Burger and Lava Tots. Of course Andy was going to have half of the things removed from the Lava tots so they no longer resembled what was on the menu but that is another thing. Instead we got giant corndogs, chips and drinks and ate them at a picnic table across from the Cape Cod Inflatable park. We’ll have to go back to the Doghouse in the next week or so.

On the way back I thought that we could stop for ice cream, too. I pulled off at a place and Andy and I looked at the menu for about 10 minutes deciding what we wanted only to discover when we got out of the car that the place didn’t open until 5pm. Fail number two of the day. So instead we went to Cumberland Farms so Andy could get a Hyperfreeze.

Cousins on the Front Porch

Tonight after dinner the kids had some ice cream and were hanging out on the porch shouting at the cars. My Niece and Nephew originated this. They try to get people to honk or rev their engines. This sends the dog into a fit and it is so loud. But, it was remarked that these kids probably won’t be hanging out on the porch like this in a few years so someone should take a photo. Shelby went out and took the photo above. I do have to say that so far this Summer the kids have been getting along fairly well. So that is good.

Sorting Transformers ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02424 Yesterday I drove Andy to school. Today I walked over with them. I did so not because I didn't think Andy would be safe on their own. Andy has been walking home from school for well over a year so walking to school is the same thing just in reverse. I wanted to see how long it actually took for the walk to go. I of course, over estimated how early we had to head over. The walk itself only takes a brisk 15 minutes. And that is at a modified teenager's shuffle. So Andy can leave the house around 6:25-6:30 and still get there by 6:45 when the doors open to the High School. Good to know. During the day I started one of the projects I've been meaning to start and have been putting off. I'm sorting through my Transformers and getting them ready to sell. I have talked with the guys at Double Midnight Comics about selling them my collection. Not the stuff I have on display and also I am picking out some figures that I want to keep as part of the collectio...

Time with Lexi ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02401 Today We watched my sister's dog, Lexi. My sister and her husband were coming back up here from their home and they had boarded the dog. They weren't sure if they'd be there in time to pick her up so we did that for them. We had Lexi for a couple of hours before they arrived and we had dinner together. Lexi was pretty chill for the most part until Torrun came in to the living room to investigate. At first they just looked at each other. Andy grabbed for LEXI's leash and then Lexi tried to go after Torrun. Torrun ended up bolting for the upstairs and we did not see her for hours. James knew enough not to even come down.

Time For Another Change ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02402 Andy decided to clean their room today. In so doing they decided that they no longer wish to hang on to their LEGO sets. So, I now have them all and I spent the afternoon disassembling many sets to fit into the one bucket. There were many Minecraft sets in there. What I'm going to do eventually is take what is in the bucket and separate it down to the individual sets that I still have instructions books for. The organizing of that is going to be daunting. I will try and figure out an efficient way to separate everything but I'm sure that will take some time. Andy also decided that they no longer want the piggy bank that was mine. That I am putting into a box for Andy for when they get older and maybe have kids of their own.
